New project for BENETEAU and RCM
RCM and BENETEAU are uniting around a new distribution concept.
Originally from Vendée the 2 companies have worked towards a new approach to distribution and services, the pilot project for which will be based on the historic St Gilles-Croix-de-Vie site at the heart of BENETEAU activities.
This project names “Horsepower” consists of building a new generation dealership dedicated to BENETEAU products, sail and motor boats, within the same building, with boutique and accessories areas completely redesigned, and a service quality with reassessed standards.
This dealership will be located in the immediate vicinity of the brand’s head office and the Bégaudière factory, where BENETEAU builds its large units, and which is currently undergoing significant extension works. For Luca Brancaleon, the managing director of BENETEAU, “this proximity will allow us to implement a genuine collaborative approach in the design of an innovative distribution model and give us ideas for the best practices in the automobile sector. The different departments of the BENETEAU brand will be closely involved with the implementation of this new project”.
“We have a good command of the entire approach which aims to put the customer at the heart of our strategy” continues Ronan Chabot, manager of the RCM Group. “Yachting combines very varied types of customers, but they are enthusiasts very close to those in the automobile industry. We look forward to providing a quality experience to all of our customers"
This project relies on 3 sites in Massif Marine de Saint Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, du Crouesty et Sables d’Olonne. It’s a new line of business for RCM who joins the distribution activities of Mercedes Benz (26 sites) for private vehicles, utility vehicles and trucks, Toyota (37 sites), Lexus (9 sites) and Porsche (2 sites). In 2019 this group, driven by 1700 employees, had 45,000 vehicles for a turnover of 1.1 Billion Euros.
